At a routine check up in 2023, we were told the baby we were just weeks away from meeting no longer had a heartbeat. He was born sleeping with dark hair just like his dad, a cute button nose. He will always be our beautiful boy.

Stillbirth is something you hear about and quietly hope will never touch your life. You never think it will happen to you — until it does. Until it’s your baby. Your family. Your forever changed world.

We are sharing Freddy’s story not only to honour him, but to help bring awareness to the reality that stillbirth is more common than many realize, and yet so rarely talked about. The silence can make grieving families feel isolated in the heaviest moments of their lives. We don’t want Freddy’s life — however brief — to be invisible.

This fundraiser will help support other families as they navigate unimaginable grief that comes with saying goodbye far too soon. It will also allow us to advocate in Freddy’s name, to support conversations, resources, and research so that fewer families have to experience this heartbreak.
