My name is Kristin Montag and I struggle with infertility. It has taken me years to come to grip with this reality, and not to be embarrassed or ashamed to talk about it. Both my husband and myself always wanted a large family, but we struggled to have children. After years of trying, testing, medication and procedures I finally became a mom on November 25, 2013. My beautiful daughter Olivia was born, thanks to fertility treatments, wonderful doctors and plenty of support. It was a long road, but we made it. We decided to try again, and through IUI became pregnant once more. Unfortunately, due to my water breaking, we ended up losing our son, Luke Thomas Montag on July 2, 2017. He was born at 20 weeks, 1 day. He was the most beautiful baby, and I am blessed that I got to hold and cuddle with him for his short time here on earth.
I am running for him, and my daughter Olivia. They have made me a better woman and mom. They are the reason I get up in the morning, and they have brought out the best in me. My hope is that every family that has lost a child, can find the strength to go on. Some days are hard, but we persevere through, knowing that there are people in our lives that can and will support us. You are never weak when you ask for help.
My fundraising goal is to raise $702.00, as a tribute to the day Luke was born (07/02).
